You must then enter your personal information (contact details, personal data, sales experience, income from the previous year…). After validating your data, you will be redirected to your admin area from where you will be able to configure your dropshipping site.
2- Choose the theme of your Shopify store
This will start with the choice of the theme; Shopify offers a large number of quality themes, original and each with their own specific features. Depending on whether you have chosen a free or premium theme, you will just have to click on “Install Theme” or “Buy Theme”. Although the theme has been predefined, your site will retain its authenticity because each theme can be customized once installed.
– Once you have finished customizing your site, you will need to add the products you wish to sell.
You can access the Shopify theme marketplace: here you have free and paid themes. You will be able to see on the platform the features of the theme if it is responsive and especially the reviews of other customers. Once the theme is installed, or purchased, you will have to configure it.
Configure the shopify theme
By clicking on the online store, you will arrive on this page you will be able to set up your Shopify theme and configure it so that it looks like no other. Once you have clicked on this page on the top right you will have 3 buttons that will allow you to configure your store. Once the configuration is done you will have to click on “Publish as my shop’s theme” you can of course change the theme afterward if you wish.
3- Add products to your store
Once you have completed the customization of your site, you will need to add the products you wish to sell. To do this, go to the “Products” menu, then “Add a product” and fill in all the fields;
– The “Organization” section will allow you to categorize your article.
If you are going to categorize your products, make sure that the number of clicks for the customer to reach the product is minimal. Select the products belonging to the same category, in “Products”, go to “Bulk Actions” and click on “Add to collection”. You can create a collection during this step.
– For example, if you offer art materials you can have the categories paint-pastel-pencil or paper-napkin-accessories.
Adding and removing products can be done manually or automatically. You may want to add pages for the types of items you sell on your site. In this case, go to the “Online Store” menu, then “Pages” or “Blog Post” depending on whether it is a page or a blog, “Add Page”, you will then have to make configurations before saving.
– Finally, regarding discounts and promotions on products, go to “Discounts”, “Add discount” and “Generate Code”
You will have control over these promo codes depending on what you choose about their validity. Discounts can be fixed or in percentages or can take the form of free shipping. It will be up to you to determine the duration of these promotions and the products on which they can be applied.
– Importing bulk dropshipped products
If you want to add dropshipping products in mass, Biganalytiks is the tool you need. Again, the tool is in English but it will allow you to import and synchronize the stock status directly through your supplier. Up to 500 products Biganalytiks is free of charge, beyond that it costs 29 to 79€/month depending on the number of products.
– Add discounts on your products
If you want to add a discount on one of your products, you have to go to the discounts section and then > “add discount”, once this is done, you just have to configure your discount code and put the discount you want, you can create a discount in % or in amount, you can, of course, limit the discount in time.
4-Create a page and add content to it
To create a page on Shopify, you have to go to “online store” then “page” and “add page”. You just have to add your content and save it with the “save” button at the top of the page. The step is the same for a blog post.
5-Display your company information
You will also need to display your company information for a better image: “Settings”, “General”. Fill in the three categories of information: Store Details, Store Address, and Standard and Formats. This information is important and guarantees your reliability with the customer.
6-Configure the taxes
Next, you will need to select the options for taxes. It is preferable that taxes are already included in the sales prices of products; go to the “Settings” menu, “Taxes”, and check that the box “All taxes are included in my prices” has been checked. You can also go to the product file to check this.
7-Set up the delivery method
Lastly, you will have to set the delivery method which is in “Settings” then “Shipping”. The fields will normally be filled in automatically. However, you will need to check the destination address of the orders (“Edit address”) and select the delivery zones which, along with the weight of the items, will have an impact on the delivery cost. We can say that your site is now operational.
– However, remember to test it beforehand:
in your administrator space, go to “Payments”, “Select a Credit Card Gateway” “Accept Credit Card” then “Other”, “Bogus Gateway” and finally “Activate”. You will find yourself in a simulation where you will be put in the place of the customer on your site to see how the purchases are going. This check is important to make sure that your site is working perfectly. This verification, although optional, will be the last step before the launch of your site. It’s up to you!
8- Configure your payment methods
You have to go to settings then > payments to configure the payment methods you want to put online: PayPal, credit card… These are the most important steps for any entrepreneur who wants to start an e-commerce business, especially in dropshipping. Once you have established the starting data for the creation of your business, Shopify will be the best platform to start in the field of online sales. Easy to use and proven, Shopify will guarantee the quality of your site. Working in dropshipping has never seemed so easy.
Unlike other platforms, it is a real ally for beginners.
However, make sure that you have made all the necessary preparations so that your store has the best possible basis. Then it will be easier to make your first sales, generate traffic and get positive testimonials from your customers.
